BEEF farm
Kenny is a part time suckler beef farmer. The farm is situated above land leading down to the Ballinderry river. He runs a split calving system, with some cows calving in the spring and some in the autumn.

The problem
The majority of Kennys farm is free draining as it sits on shattered rock. There is an area on the farm which has become an unconstructed wetland (picture). This area has little value as agricultural land but has turned out to be very valuable to the project!
The Solution
The farm has a lesser dirty water problem, so the system has been scaled accordingly, making use of the already present wetland area. A proportion of the dirty water on the farm already reaches this wetland. We intend to pass this water through our nature based water management system to remove nutrients and contaminants before spilling it into the wetland area.
